ABOUT Us

Circle Passages brings together diverse professionals who have come together to create a safe and natural circle to help you heal and grow. We take a whole-person approach that includes everything and everyone that we feel people need to keep them safe as they transform. Nature is a big part of this circle, holding and healing us in ways that are powerful, meaningful, and personal. At Circle Passages we create a space for deep transformation that is therapeutic but not therapy. It is simply a safe place to get to know and be yourself.

A Family Calling

Walking the path of our ancestors.

Heather has a deep intergenerational calling to initiate youth in modern rites of passage. Following her father's footsteps whose doctoral degree was in the lack of modern rites of passage, her first course in her doctoral work was on rites of passage.

She has passed this love of nature-based initiation to her son Jordan who works with her as well as her sons, nieces, and nephews.

CIRCLE PASSAGES offers renewed hope, health, and love for life. In studies a nature-based approach has been found to reduce anxiety, depression, addiction, ADD/ADHD, OCD, mood disorders, attachment deficit disorder, PTSD, social anxiety, suicidal ideation, nature deficit disorder, technology addiction, sleep & eating disorders and self-esteem. We offer a path to meaning and purpose.

OUR MISSION is to help youth, adults, and elders find safe passage as they navigate the paths of their lives. Through contemporary rites of passage, we guide individuals on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment to foster natural and sustainable growth within a circle of power and community. We honor the deep values and connections that provide safe passage through hard times.

OUR VISION is a world of multi-generational and cultural wholeness in which individuals can achieve independence within circles of interdependence. People are whole within themselves because they are held within circles of family and community, growing naturally like the rings of a tree. Like a circle, we offer a vision of unbroken connection based on respect for all life held within the circle of the earth.

OUR DREAM is to help those who are the most vulnerable and lost to find safe passage. We are especially drawn to help at risk-youth and homeless. If you share this dream, please reach out to see how we can collaborate and co-create to make this a reality. We having free kits ready to go out to help with the crisis that is here now and would love support in purchasing basic supplies . . . or? Together we can make a profound difference. As Margaret Mead said: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." Come join our group.

4 STAGES and STEPS of the CIRCLE

  1. SEPARATION: Take inventory to make changes and separate from your past. What will you leave?

  2. PREPARATION: Prepare for your rite of passage both outwardly (pack socks . . . ) and inwardly (gather courage . . .). This includes time at home and on the land before you go out on your own.

  3. TRANSFORMATION: Time on the land on your own (whether during a day over a couple days) where you undergo your transformation, gaining a new insight, revelation, or breakthrough.

  4. INTEGRATION: You come back into circle both on the land and at the nature center to integrate what you have learned and ground it in your life. This includes activities and circle gatherings outlined below.
